Police arrested 12 men and nine women. The charges include resisting arrest, causing a disturbance, mischief, weapons-related offences, and assaulting police, among others.
A man and woman were released on Friday night, but the rest are still in custody pending a court appearance tomorrow. The woman was charged with assault, but released because she wasn't with the main group. The man was released for medical reasons.
Theresa Brien, Halifax Regional Police spokeswoman, said the group was remanded out of concerns that criminal offences could continue if they were released.
"Of the 19 who were held, at least 10 refused to provide identification," Brien said.
They will appear before the court as John or Jane Doe.
